Walter Neuweiler

Walter Neuweiler (born December 12, 1898 in Môtiers , † January 6, 1972 in Bern ) was a Swiss physician .

Neuweiler studied medicine at the University of Bern , where he passed the state examination in 1923 and received his doctorate . After working as an assistant doctor in Bern, Zurich and Vienna, he settled in Baden in 1927 as a specialist doctor . In 1931 he became a senior physician in Bern. In 1933 Neuweiler received his habilitation for obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Bern and was appointed associate professor in 1942 and full professor in 1950. From 1959 to 1961 he was Dean of the Medical Faculty of the University of Bern. In 1966 he retired.

His best-known text, the textbook on gynecological diagnostics , was also published in English in 1952.
