Walter Resch (politician, 1939)

Walter Resch (born July 18, 1939 in Traunkirchen , † September 8, 1995 in Vienna ) was an Austrian technician and politician ( SPÖ ). Resch was a member of the Austrian National Council between 1982 and 1993 .

After attending compulsory school, Resch learned the trade of machine fitter and from 1959 worked for Oberösterreichische Kraftwerke AG . From 1965 to 1967 he attended the evening school of the foreman school and from 1968 to 1969 the power plant foreman school in Esslingen am Neckar . As a result, he was promoted to shift supervisor in 1969 and operations technician in 1972.

In the political field, Resch was initially involved in local politics. He was a local councilor in Ostermiething from 1974 to 1986 and vice mayor from 1974 to 1979. In addition, from 1974 he was a member of the district executive committee of the SPÖ in Braunau am Inn and from 1982 its district chairman and member of the SPÖ state executive committee. In 1990 he took over the role of deputy state party chairman. Resch was a member of the National Council from May 13, 1982 to September 30, 1993.
