Walter Schilling (General)

Walter Curt Gustav Schilling (born December 23, 1895 in Kulm , West Prussia ; † July 20, 1943, died near Doljenjaja near Isjum , Ukraine ) was a German officer , most recently a lieutenant general in World War II .

Schilling already served as an officer in World War I and has received several awards.

In the Wehrmacht , Schilling served as Chief of the General Staff of the 3rd Panzer Army during World War II . As commander of the 17th Panzer Division , he fell in 1943 during the Soviet Isjum-Barvenkovsk operation .
