The walter services Holding GmbH with headquarters in Siegburg ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ) acts as a holding company for various subsidiaries that outsourcing offer services in the areas of customer service and sales. Above all, this includes the operation of service centers for incoming (inbound) and outgoing (outbound) telephony, e.g. B. for telephone marketing , customer care , customer service , e-mails as well as BPO, customer services, IT and sales services.

organization

Until the end of 2006, the companies operated as walter TeleMedien . At the beginning of 2007 these were renamed to walter services . The merging of the brand was accompanied by a division into regional sales regions.

The company was represented at locations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland and Romania. In the 2000s, walter services expanded through takeovers. Among other things, walter services hit the headlines with the takeover of several locations from the Telekom subsidiary Vivento in 2006 and 2007, as well as two former Quelle service centers in 2009.

In 2004, walter services was the first company in the German call center industry to conclude a framework collective agreement with Ver.di to determine annual working time accounts and vacation entitlement . In 2009, after tough negotiations and various strikes, the industry's first collective wage agreement followed, which includes uniform salary structures for employees across Germany and is considered to be trend-setting.

On January 1, 2013, walter services took over the Marburg location of Unitymedia.

At the beginning of 2013, the Flensburg company Perry & Knorr Communications with over 1500 employees and 35 million euros in sales was taken over.

At the end of July 2013, due to the threat of insolvency, the shareholders applied for walter services to be placed under a protective umbrella in order to initiate planned insolvency and attempt a possible rescue. However, the largest customer to date has drastically cut numerous order volumes. An attempt is made to save the company with a radical renovation: the Lübeck sites with 269 employees and Schutterwald near Offenburg with 150 employees were given up. Locations in Cottbus, Dresden, Frankfurt (Main) and Magdeburg were taken over by German competitors. In addition, Homechannel24 GmbH introduced a location-independent home office model as a service solution for peak management.

With the conclusion of the protective shield proceedings in January 2014, the current business owner, Meinolf Brauer, was installed as CEO. In the same year, the reorganization, restructuring and modernization of the entire company were advanced. In 2015, the Perry & Knorr GmbH locations and the foreign companies were transferred to a French service group.

In 2016, walter cloud services GmbH was placed on the market.

In January 2017 - including the service contracts with the DuMont sheets Berliner Kurier , Berliner Zeitung , Express , Hamburger Morgenpost , Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger , Kölnische Rundschau and Mitteldeutsche Zeitung - the then »DuMont Dialag« with locations in Berlin and Halle (Saale) taken over; however, the Berlin location was closed in the middle of the year. The now owner-managed company had grown to nine locations in Germany.

Shareholder

Initially, Beisheim Holding Schweiz AG ( Otto Beisheim ) was the main owner. In 2006 she sold her 70 percent stake to the Dutch private equity investor Gilde Buy Out Partners . In 2008 the two financial investors Odewald & Compagnie and Capiton AG took over a large part of these shares from Gilde. Walter Services has been majority owned by the investors HIG Europe and Anchorage Capital since 2011 . Since August 2015, the German locations of Walter Services have been owned by Managing Director Meinolf Brauer, the locations of Perry & Knorr GmbH and the foreign companies were taken over by the Webhelp group.
