Walter Stuart, 6th Lord Blantyre ( February 1, 1683 - June 23, 1713 ) was a Scottish - British nobleman and politician .

He was the eldest son of Alexander Stuart, 5th Lord Blantyre , from his marriage to Anne Hamilton (1658-1722), daughter of Robert Hamilton, Lord Pressmennan († 1695). As his father's apparent marriage , he carried the courtesy title of Master of Blantyre from birth , before he inherited his father as Lord Blantyre in 1704 .

Because of his nobility he was a member of the Scottish Parliament , where he spoke out vigorously against the union with England . After this was completed in 1707 and the Scottish Parliament was dissolved, he was elected as the Scottish Representative Peer in the British House of Lords in 1710 .

He died of a fever as early as 1713 and was buried in the crypt of the Dukes of Richmond at Westminster Abbey . Since he had remained unmarried and childless, his brother Robert Stuart inherited his title of nobility.
