Walter Supper (screenwriter)

Walter Supper (born April 8, 1887 in Hamm , † March 3, 1943 in Berlin ) was a German screenwriter .

Life

The trained lawyer and singer became a writer after participating in the First World War and from 1920 switched to writing screenplays. He often worked with the director Carl Froelich . Occasionally he also acted as an actor , editor or co- production manager (1931 for girls in uniform ).

In 1934 he rose to the position of chief dramaturge at UFA . As a screenwriter, he now mainly worked for the director Arthur Robison . Since Supper refused to part with his Jewish wife, he was expelled from the Reichsschrifttumskammer in 1939 . He and his wife committed suicide .
