Walter Voigtländer

Walter Voigtländer (born April 3, 1904 in Chemnitz ; † unknown) was a German educator and employee of the Reich Ministry of Education .

Voigtländer attended a secondary school in Chemnitz until 1923 and became an elementary school teacher at the Dresden Pedagogical Institute of the TH Dresden . From 1926 to 1928 he worked in the Saxon school service, then he studied pedagogy, psychology and philosophy at the TH Dresden and became an assistant to the National Socialist Alfred Baeumler . He received his doctorate from him in 1931 at the TH Dresden on history lessons , especially on the concepts of people and state . He criticized Wilhelm Dilthey's view of community, especially with the arguments of Otto Westphal . The NSDAP member (from May 1, 1933) received a teaching position at the Pedagogical Institute in Dresden in August 1933. From 1934 he worked in the Reich Ministry of Education (alongside Albert Holfelder ), where he became the main consultant in 1935 and Ministerialrat in 1940 with responsibility for the college for teacher training in the Reich Ministry of Education, Office for Science. From 1935 he was also a professor at the Frankfurt (Oder) University for Teacher Training . In November 1933 he signed the professors' declaration of Adolf Hitler at German universities and colleges . In 1934 he became an SS member (1938 Obersturmführer ).
