Walter Wilkinson (athlete)
Walter Wilkinson (born November 2, 1944 ) is a retired British middle-distance runner .
In 1966, starting for England at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston, he came fourth in the mile run . At the European Athletics Championships in Budapest he was eleventh over 1500 m .
He also won bronze over 1500 m at the European Indoor Games in Belgrade in 1969 and was seventh at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Sofia in 1971 .
Over 1500 m he was English champion in 1970 and in 1969 and 1970 English indoor champion.
