Walther Rimarski

Walther Rimarski (born August 7, 1874 in Bialla , East Prussia , † December 24, 1963 in Berlin-Halensee ) was a German chemist. He was president of the Chemisch-Technische Reichsanstalt in Berlin.

Life

Rimarski studied chemistry at the TH Charlottenburg . In 1897 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Berlin . In 1903 he was at the University of Königsberg to Dr. phil. PhD . In the Weimar Republic he was president of the Chemisch-Technische Reichsanstalt (CTR) for many years , a successor to the military research office founded in 1889 . With Maximilian Pfender , who later became President of BAM, he organized the reconstruction of the (formerly: Royal) State Materials Testing Office (MPA, 1919–1945), which in 1954 was merged with the civil remains of the CTR to form the Federal Institute for Materials Testing (BAM). Walther Rimarski died in Berlin in 1963 at the age of 89 and was buried in the forest cemetery in Zehlendorf . The grave has not been preserved.

He was probably related to Julius Rimarski .
