Wang Jianlin (王健林; Pinyin: Wáng Jiànlín; born October 24, 1954 in Cangxi County, Sichuan Province ) is a Chinese entrepreneur and multi-billionaire.

Life

From 1970 to 1986 he served in the People's Liberation Army . Since 1993 he has headed the Chinese Wanda Group . He also bought the US cinema chain AMC Entertainment and the British luxury yacht manufacturer Sunseeker International . Wang is married and lives in Dalian .

Wang initiated the construction of the tallest residential tower in London ( One Nine Elms ) and, in the Chinese port city of Qingdao, the construction of the world's largest film city called Oriental Movie Metropolis (in operation since 2018). Since 2015 he has owned 20% of the shares in the Spanish football club Atlético Madrid .

On August 26, 2015, the Ironman and Ironman 70.3 brands were sold for US $ 650 million to Dalian Wanda Group Co., Ltd. approved.

In February 2018, it became known that due to financial hardship, Wang had to sell his cultural, amusement and amusement parks to the Chinese real estate company Sunac , including its film city in Qingdao. In some sales it suffered a 90 percent loss.
