Hurun report
The Hurun Report ( Chinese 胡潤 百 富 榜 , Pinyin Húrùn bǎifùbǎng ) is a ranking of the richest Chinese that has been published since 2012 . According to the Wall Street Journal , people in China are not truly considered wealthy "until they make it onto the Hurun report list." The Hurun Report is one of many publications by the Hurun Report Luxury Media Group, headquartered in Shanghai, China.
Rupert Hoogewerf
This list is created by the Englishman Rupert Hoogewerf, whose Chinese name is Húrùn (胡润). He had previously worked for the former “ Big Five auditing company ” Arthur Andersen for seven years .
Hoogewerf, born in Luxembourg , attended the well-known boarding school Eton College in England and then graduated from Durham University in northern England with a degree in Chinese and Japanese . In 1999, Hoogewerf started its list of the richest Chinese ( China Rich List ). His other lists include a list of the most generous Chinese ( Hurun Philanthropy List , 2004) and a list of the most important living Chinese artists ( Hurun Contemporary Art List , 2008). The entrepreneurs on the lists can often be found at the events of the Hurun Report Magazine.
