Józef Szamocki

Józef Szamocki (born October 4, 1954 in Gdynia , Pomeranian Voivodeship , Poland ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop in Toruń (Thorn) .

Life

The Bishop of Kulm , Bernard Czaplinski , ordained him as a priest on April 29, 1979 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Clypia and auxiliary bishop in Toruń on April 20, 2000 . He was ordained episcopate on May 27th of the same year by the Bishop of Toruń, Andrzej Suski ; Co- consecrators were Tadeusz Gocłowski CM , Archbishop of Danzig , and Henryk Muszyński , Archbishop of Gniezno . As a motto he chose Servire ecclesiae (" To serve the Church").

His coat of arms shows a blue globe with black longitudes and latitudes on a white background, above it the TAU ( Antonius Cross ), left and right 2 blue letters EM Mater Ecclesia - Mother Church .

Bishop Suski appointed him vicar general of the diocese of Toruń.
