Earl St. John

Earl St. John (born June 14, 1892 in Baton Rouge , Louisiana , † February 26, 1968 in Torremolinos , Spain ) was an American film producer who stood for over 100 film productions for the British Rank Organization between 1950 and 1964 .

life and work

Earl St. John, born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1892, was in charge of the productions for the British film company Rank Organization at Pinewood Studios from 1950 to 1964.

Earl St. John was executive producer at the Rank Organization studios under the strict supervision of CEO John Davis and his autocratic control. Under his formal direction, expensive filming and productions were cut back without comment, because no film was allowed to exceed a budget of £ 150,000. Nevertheless, Pinewood produced a number of important and successful productions including Being Serious Is Everything , The Fiery Isabella , Flames Over The Far East , Doctor Ahoi! , Duel at the wheel , One came through , The last night of the Titanic and The 39 steps .

St. John died on February 26, 1968 in Spain at the age of 75.
