The Wanxiang Group ( Chinese  万向 集团 , Pinyin Wànxiàng Jítuán ) is a large Chinese group that operates primarily as an automotive supplier and manufacturer of electric buses and is now also operating internationally. In 2010, it reported sales of around 12 billion US dollars and was the largest automotive supplier in China. Wanxiang's chairman is Dr. Lu Guanqiu.

Wanxiang Electric Vehicle

With its subsidiary Wanxiang Electric Vehicle (own abbreviation: WXEV), Wanxiang has also been manufacturing complete electric buses and hybrid buses since 2006 . The first trials started in 2003, with Wanxiang using the electric batteries from a factory acquired in 2000 to manufacture lithium-ion batteries . The buses run in big cities like Shanghai , Hangzhou , Guangzhou , Zhengzhou and Nanchang . At the Expo 2010 in Shanghai, for example, Wanxiang used 160 buses with 65 seats and 300 batteries each on two 14 km long lines, each with a range of 80 km. The additional batteries were charged in a hall and replaced with used ones by robots in 6 minutes each.

The Wanxiang Electric Vehicle Pure Electric Bus , with external dimensions of 11650 × 2490 × 3300 in mm, has a range of 250 km, reaches a top speed of 90 km / h and an acceleration of 20 seconds from 0 to 50 km / h. The lithium-ion battery pack consists of 6 x 88 elements with a charge capacity of 100 Ah each and can be recharged in three hours with fast charging, otherwise in 10 hours. The energy consumption per 100 km is 98 kWh without and 142 kWh with air conditioning.

Electric cars

In 2014, Wanxiang acquired the electric hybrid car manufacturer Fisker Automotive for $ 149.2 million and renamed it Karma Automotive . history
