Wangay Dorji (born January 9, 1974 in Thimphu ) is a former Bhutanese football player . With 20 appearances, Dorji is the record player of the Bhutanese national team and, together with Passang Tshering , also the record scorer. He is also one of the few players from Bhutan to have played outside of Bhutan.
Career

Dorji played for the Bangladeshi club Mohammedan SC , for Samtse FC , Ranjung United , Transport United and for the Bhutanese record champions Druk Pol .
National team
Dorji scored five goals in 20 appearances for the Bhutanese national team . He gained international fame through a hat trick in a game against Montserrat , in which his team won 4-0 in the end. This game was initiated by the Dutch director Johan Kramer and processed in the documentary The Other Final . He also scored a brace against the Guam national team . Dorji was also the captain of his crew.
