South Australia Coat of Arms
The coat of arms of South Australia , a state of Australia , is a blue coat of arms shield with a gold seal in which a naturally colored flute bird (an Australian Piping Shrike) sits with outstretched wings on a black branch.
A gold-red-black crest with four green plant stems and red flowers of the desert pea (Swainsona formosa) hovers over the shield .
Stalks of wheat, barley, fruit and citrus are scattered around the green pedestal . Two cogwheels and a mine pike are on the left.
Under the shield the words "South Australia" in black capital letters .
symbolism
The rising sun is symbolized by the golden seal. The coat of arms was renewed in a proclamation on April 19, 1984, replacing the one awarded by King Edward VIII in 1936 .
