The coat of arms of Tasmania , a state of Australia on the island of Tasmania, in red and blue quartered with a higher set white bar with a golden sheep .

In the first field a golden sheaf and in the fourth golden hops ; In the second and third fields, starting with silver, there are two blue bars over which there are first one golden and then four golden apples.

A red and white crest hovers above the shield with a red running lion , which is supported with its right front paw on a shovel and a pickaxe.

The shield holder is a golden pouch-wolf standing on a golden arabesque lattice on the right and left . Under the shield a white ribbon and the words in black capital letters "Ubertas et Fidelitas" ( fertility and fidelity ).

The coat of arms was officially granted by King George V of the United Kingdom on May 29, 1917 and adopted in 1919.
