The iris warleyensis ( Iris warleyensis ) is a plant of the genus Iris ( Iris ) within the family of the Iridaceae (Iridaceae).

features

The Warley Iris is a perennial bulbous plant that reaches heights of (10) 20 to 30 centimeters. The plate of the hanging leaves measures 1.2 to 1.7 × 1.5 centimeters. It is dark purple in color with a white border and a dark yellow spot on both sides of the toothed, white comb. The nail is 7 to 12 millimeters wide and has parallel edges. The standards are 1.2 to 2 inches long, bluntly three-lobed, purple in color and veined with darker veins. The perigone tube is 4.5 to 5 inches long and greenish with purple nerves.

The flowering period extends from March to April.

Occurrence

The Warley iris occurs in the West Pamir on stony slopes of fine soil together with Juniperus and Ferula at altitudes of 1200 to 1800 meters.

The Warley Iris is rarely used as an ornamental plant in rock gardens. It has been in culture since 1902 at the latest.
