Watschiger tolerance prayer house

The tolerance prayer house in Watschig is a Protestant church building in Austria. Erected in 1782, it was the second stone-walled tolerance prayer house in Carinthia and is the oldest preserved.

It forms a unit of parish and prayer house , which are L-shaped in approximately equally proportioned wings , whereby the prayer house in the southwest wing was only built in 1783.

The prayer house is a four-axis hall building with windows over two floors. Apse in the east wall. The main entrance is on the west side, a side entrance on the north side next to the adjacent rectory. On the flat ceiling above the altar there is a representation of the Lord's Supper . The interior is late baroque or rococo . The high altar shows Moses with the tablets of the law above the crucifix .

The purchase of an organ , which was commissioned from Alois Hörbiger for 740 guilders , did not take place until 1836.

The church, which has been preserved almost unchanged and is in use, is looked after by the parish of Hermagor.
