The Waverly Glacier is a narrow glacier on the Lassiter coast of the Palmerland in the south of the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows along the southern flank of Mount Tricorn to Wright Inlet .
The first aerial photographs were taken in December 1940 during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941). Participants of the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948) made further aerial photographs in 1947 . The expedition leader Finn Ronne named the glacier after the town of Waverly in the US state of New York , location of the company Kasco Mills , which had provided Ronnes Expedition with 20 tons of dog food .
