The Wright Inlet is an ice-covered bay at the Lassiter Coast of Palmer Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . Your entrance is between Cape Little and Cape Wheeler .
Scientists of the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) photographed the inlet during an overflight in December 1940. It was mapped seven years later as part of the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948) under the direction of the US polar explorer Finn Ronne . This named it after John Kirtland Wright (1891-1969), director of the American Geographical Society , which had the patronage of the expedition.
