Les Chambres is a is a village and a former French commune with the last 137 inhabitants (2013) in the department of Manche in the region of Normandy . It belonged to the Arrondissement of Avranches and the canton of La Haye-Pesnel .

With effect from January 1, 2016, the former communes of Champcervon and Les Chambres were merged to create a nouvelle commune called Le Grippon . Both municipalities were not granted the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Champcervon.

Neighboring towns are La Lucerne-d'Outremer in the north, La Mouche in the northeast, Subligny in the southeast, Lolif in the south, Montviron in the southwest and Champcervon in the west.

history

Earlier place names were Cambas (1186), de Cambris (1200) and de Cameris (1369/70). In 1826, what was then the municipality of Le Grippon was incorporated into Les Chambres.
