Wayne Peet

Wayne Edward Peet (born June 12, 1954 in Dallas , Texas ) is an American musician ( piano and organ ), arranger , composer and music producer who is primarily active in the jazz scene on the American west coast .

Peet started playing the piano at the age of seven; He made his first appearances during his youth in churches in Washington , Oregon , Idaho and California . At first he also played the trombone. After attending Westmont College (1973–1977) he was one of the founding members of the Frobisher Hall Art Ensemble with John Rapson . In 1978 he moved to Los Angeles, where he initially played with John Rapson, then worked in the 1980s with Alex Cline , Nels Cline , Vinny Golia and Steuart Liebig ; During this time recordings were made for Goli’s label Nine Winds . In addition, Peet worked as a composer for film and television productions; also worked as a producer and sound engineer for the labels Nine Winds, pfMentum, Blue Note, Enja , Atavistic, Little Brother, SST and other labels. From 1992 to 1994 he wrote arrangements for Brian Setzer , played with Bobby Bradford in 2000 and was involved as a sound engineer on the first album (EP) of the Leviathan Brothers in 2005 .
