The Website Award was launched by the Federal Ministry of Economics ( BMWi ).

The Website Award is organized by the Electronic Business Network (NEG). The NEG is a network of 29 regional competence centers for electronic business and the industry competence center for retail. The aim is to support medium-sized businesses and the skilled trades in the introduction and use of e-business.

The last Website Award was given in 2011.

Evaluation criteria

The quality of the submitted websites is assessed according to the following main criteria:

  • Addressing target groups / content / added value
  • Ease of use (function / navigation / formalities / security)
  • Presentation / design
  • Technical implementation
  • Interactivity / reaction
  • Legal compliance

Attendees

The winners of the regional NEG Website Awards are eligible to participate . In 2007, 1,600 companies took part in the regional qualifications, in 2008 1,700 companies took part.
