Signpost (Sollnitz)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Signpost between Sollnitz and Retzau

The signpost near Sollnitz is a small monument in the independent city of Dessau-Roßlau in Saxony-Anhalt .

On the state road 135 between Sollnitz and Retzau there is not only a permanent milestone , but also a historical signpost. This was set up at the junction to Möhlau (Landesstrasse 136) and therefore bears the legible information to Kleinmöhlau and an arrow below it. There are also inscriptions on the other sides that are visible from the street.

They probably pointed the way to Sollnitz or Retzau. Each of these three places today has a different city and district affiliation. Möhlau is incorporated into Graefenhainichen ( Wittenberg district ), Retzau to Raguhn-Jeßnitz ( Anhalt-Bitterfeld district ) and Sollnitz to Dessau-Roßlau. Historically, however, all three places belonged to Anhalt .

It is not known whether there were also distance information on the signpost. The text area does not work that way because the three lines are evenly distributed. At the top there is a metal bolt, possibly remnants of surveying activities. The stone is under monument protection and is entered in the monument register with registration number 094 41 132 as a monument .
