history

Chapel of St. Peter and Paul

In 845 a cell in the consecration cell was donated to St. Gallen Monastery. In 1353 the place appears as Wiggenzell. Weihungszell is said to have died out after the Thirty Years' War . Later immigrants from Tyrol settled here.

Weihungszell belonged to Dietenheim until 1832 , with whom it experienced an eventful history. In the 15th century it came into the possession of the Krafft family in Ulm, and in the 16th century it came into Fugger 's possession. During Napoleon's time he became Bavarian in 1806 and in 1819 together with Ulm Württemberg. In 1832 Weihungszell was separated from the community of Dietenheim and merged with Hörenhausen and other areas to form the community of Sießen im Wald .

In the course of the regional and administrative reform, Sießen im Wald was incorporated into the community of Schwendi on January 1, 1972.

In 1999 the meeting point GAEDO WZ - youth culture under apple trees was established.
