The Bergdolt winery is a winery . It is located in the Duttweiler district of the city of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse in the German wine-growing region Pfalz . Rainer Bergdolt has been the owner and cellar master of the winery since 1972 . In 2009 his daughter Carolin joined the family business. On October 2, 1754, the mennonite Jakob Bergdolt from Wachenheim received the lease for the St. Lamprecht monastery in Duttweiler from the University of Heidelberg. The purchase price was 2300 guilders. Jakob Bergdolt and his son Johannes grew wine for the first time after the purchase on the land of the former university property. The letter of inheritance contains the clause that in the event of inheritance, property may not be broken down. Therefore, the winery has been in the family for eight generations. With Carolin Bergdolt, the ninth generation of the family entered the active management of the winery in 2009. The winery has been a member of the Association of German Predicate and Quality Wineries (VDP) since 1992 .
