history

The winemaker couple Angelika and Philipp Grassl have been running the business since 2016 and "work hand in hand with their parents Susanne and Hans", who took over the winery from Philip's grandfather. After the Second World War, he began to fill wine into bottles. The winery is a member of the "Rubin Carnuntum Wineries" and is considered one of the most successful wineries in the Carnuntum wine region.

Vineyards, varieties

The vineyard area is 37 hectares, of which 75 percent are planted with red and 25 percent with white grape varieties (as of 2018). In the case of red wines, around half of the production is attributable to the Zweigelt variety , which is also the leading variety in the area. Around 25 percent of the red wine cultivation area is planted with Pinot Noir and St. Laurent , the rest is made up of Blaufränkisch and international grape varieties that are required for the cuvées . The winery has made a name for itself above all with the premium red wine cuvée Bärnreiser and premium wines from the St. Laurent and Zweigelt varieties. In the white wine segment, quality wines of the varieties Chardonnay , Sauvignon Blanc , Grüner Veltliner and Gelber Muskateller are listed.
