Högl winery

The Högl winery in Spitz is an Austrian winery in the Wachau wine-growing region in Lower Austria .

The winery is located four kilometers west of Spitz in the Viessling part of the municipality in the Spitzer Graben , where most of the vineyards are located on terraced sites, steep terraces on dry stone walls. The company has been managed since 1995 by Josef Högl, who was trained by FX Pichler and Franz Prager . The vineyard area is 7.5 hectares, exclusively planted with white grape varieties . With 40% each, Grüner Veltliner and Rheinriesling dominate , the other varieties are Chardonnay , Gelber Muskateller and Sauvignon Blanc . The best-known wines are the Grüner Veltliner Lage Schön and the Rheinrieslinge from the Loibenberg and Bruck sites . The winery is a member of the Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus association .
