The Jamek winery in Joching is an Austrian winery in the Wachau wine-growing region in Lower Austria .

The winery has existed since 1910. After the Second World War, Josef Jamek (1919–2011) was one of the pioneers of Wachau viticulture and, with Franz Prager, was the pioneer for top-quality dry white wine in the Wachau. He initiated the renaissance of Austrian wine culture in the 1950s with dry, natural white wines . With his ideas, Jamek was the godfather of the Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus and was considered the doyen of the Wachau.

The winery has been run by Jamek's daughter Jutta and his son-in-law Hans Altmann since 1996. The vineyard area is 25 hectares, 85% of which are planted with white grape varieties , mainly Grüner Veltliner and Rheinriesling . The annual production is 225,000 bottles. The best-known wines are the Grüner Veltliner from the Achleiten region and the Rheinriesling Klaus . The grapes are harvested entirely by selective hand-picking , ferment in stainless steel containers with their own yeasts until fermentation stops naturally. The terroir -shaped wines are then matured in large wooden barrels.
