The WeltN24 GmbH is a German company with headquarters in Berlin . The core of the business is news in various formats (TV, Internet and tabloid programs). The wholly owned subsidiary of Axel Springer SE , which bundles the activities of the Welt Group and the TV broadcaster Welt , is economically independent of the two largest German media operators RTL Group and ProSiebenSat.1 Media .
Ulf Poschardt has been the editor-in-chief since September 6, 2016 . His deputy is Dagmar Rosenfeld . Poschardt was previously the deputy of Stefan Aust , who had temporarily assumed the position of editor-in-chief since January 1, 2016 in addition to his position of editor.

Current subsidiaries and holdings
The subsidiary Maz & More TV Produktion GmbH (formerly until December 2009: Maz & More GmbH ), which has been part of WeltN24 since March 2009, produces the Sat.1 breakfast television for Sat.1 on working days . Furthermore, the subsidiary Content Factory TV-Produktion GmbH develops and produces moving image content for internet platforms, among other things. It was founded in September 2010. Since April 2017 WeltN24 has been expanded by the subsidiary WeltN24 Club GmbH . This runs the World Club, which organizes and carries out sporting and cultural events for its members.
In addition, WeltN24 GmbH has held 88 percent of the shares in Vertical Media GmbH since June 2014 . It is a specialist publisher for online media and operates the online magazine Gründerszene . In addition, WeltN24 GmbH holds 50 percent of the Berliner Pool TV Produktionsgesellschaft mbH , which is responsible for the video and audio signals for reporting from the German Bundestag. At the VG Media company for the exploitation of copyright and intellectual property rights of media companies mbH (5.39 percent) and the German dpa press agency GmbH (1.36 percent) WeltN24 GmbH participates as well.
