World Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics 1983

The 11th World Championships of Rhythmic Gymnastics found 1983 11. bis 13. November in the Rhénus sport of Strasbourg , France instead. After winning the all-around competition, 18-year-old Diliana Gujergujewa secured further victories in the device finals with the ribbon and clubs as well as a third place in the reintroduced ball competition and thus became the most successful participant in these championships. The gymnasts from Bulgaria achieved a unique record in the history of the World Cup, winning the title in every World Cup decision. Only in the device finals with the ball and the ribbon did they share the gold medal with USSR gymnasts.
