Wendelin Beck

Wendelin Beck (born May 28, 1908 in Triesenberg , † September 2, 1978 in Vaduz ) was a Liechtenstein politician (VU).

biography

Wendelin Beck was one of the sons of the community cashier Johann Beck and his wife Luzia (née Erne). Johann Beck , who later became a member of the state parliament, was his older brother. Wendelin Beck was a citizen of the Triesenberg community and worked as a plasterer and bricklayer. From 1935 he also worked as a farmer. Furthermore, from 1943 to 1952 he was tenant of the «Alpenrose» inn in Triesenberg.

On June 14, 1936, a replacement election took place for Josef Beck (VU) , member of the Landtag who died on May 17, 1936 . Wendelin Beck was able to prevail against Josef Bühler with 190 votes to 98 votes and was now a member of the state parliament of the Principality of Liechtenstein until 1939 . From 1949 to 1952 he was again a member of the state parliament for the Fatherland Union . From 1957 to 1958 he was a deputy member of parliament. In addition to his national political activities, Beck was also active at the local level. So he was from 1936 to 1942 the municipal council of Triesenberg at, at this time was from 1939 to 1942 deputy community leader and was from 1942 to 1975 the church treasurer. He was also a member of the Supreme Court from 1939 to 1960 .

In 1935 he married Ida Sele. The marriage resulted in four daughters. Prince Franz I awarded him the Silver Medal of Merit in 1937 .
