Wendy Marcelle Fitzwilliam (born October 4, 1972 in Diego Martin ) is a Trinidadian lawyer and TV presenter and a former model. In 1998 she became the second Trinidadian and third black woman to be named Miss Universe .

Wendy Fitzwilliam was born as the first of two daughters to Noel and Juditha Fitzwilliam and grew up in Diego Martin . She studied at the University of the West Indies and the Hugh Wooding Law School Law . Two months before she was due to take her final lawyer exams , she was named Miss Universe on May 12, 1998 in Honolulu as the second Trinidadian woman after Janelle Commissiong (1977). In June 1998, she was for their commitment in the fight against HIV by the UNFPA appointed Goodwill Ambassador. In September 1998, Fitzwilliams founded the Hibiscus Foundation (THF), a non-profit organization that supports HIV-positive children and continues to chair it today. Fitzwilliam is also the Red Cross Youth Ambassador for the Caribbean Islands . After she was replaced as Miss Universe in May 1999, she continued her training as a lawyer and was admitted to the Trinidad and Tobago Bar Association on May 31, 2000. Wendy Fitzwilliam gave birth to a son in May 2006 . Since 2013 she has been the head judge of the TV show Caribbean's Next Top Model, which is broadcast in 30 countries .
