Wendy Moten (born November 22, 1965 in Memphis , Tennessee ) is an American soul singer .
Live and act
Moten attended Overton High School in Memphis and later worked as a singer in an ensemble at Libertyland Amusement Park . During her studies at the University of Memphis , she sang in small clubs until she was hired as a backing singer in his band by Kevin Paige, a former classmate. In 1991 she was discovered by producer Dick Williams, who convinced her to record a demo tape .
After performing with Michael Bolton , she signed a recording deal with EMI / ERG. In 1992 the debut album named after her was released. Two other albums, Time for Change and Christmas Time , were only released in Japan. The album Life's What You Make It followed in 1996 .
Moten continues to perform, releasing albums from time to time, and most recently touring as a backing singer with Faith Hill and Tim McGraw . She can also be heard as a background singer on albums by Eric Clapton , Martina McBride and Bonnie Tyler .
