Faith Hill
Faith Hill (* 21st September 1967 in Ridgeland , Madison County, Mississippi as Audrey Faith Perry ) is an American country- and pop that sold in their career in the US alone to date 25.5 million albums singer. This makes her one of the most successful country singers. It was also awarded five Grammys .
biography
Faith Hill was born Audrey Faith Perry in 1967 in Ridgeland near Jackson , Mississippi. She grew up with adoptive parents in the nearby small town of Star. As a child she made music and had her first appearances at rodeo competitions . After graduating from high school, she attended Hinds Community College in Raymond, but dropped out at the age of 19 and moved to Nashville .
First she sold T-shirts in a small shop for country fans, then she got a job as a secretary at a music publisher . A songwriter employed there heard her sing one day and recommended that she record a demo tape. The producer of the demo, Gary Burr, made it possible for her to accompany him on his performances as a background singer . During one such gig, she, meanwhile married to Daniel Hill, was discovered and signed by a Warner Brothers manager.
Her first album, Take Me as I Am , was released in 1993. It sold more than two million times. The released single Wild One reached number one on the country charts and stayed there for four weeks. Piece of My Heart was released as the second single from this LP ; the cover version of the Erma Franklin hit also topped the country charts in 1994. In the same year, the Hill couple divorced.
After some vocal cord problems, Faith Hill's second album was released in 1995: It Matters to Me , which even surpassed the sales of the first. In the same year she went on tour with Tim McGraw , whom she married a few months later. In 1997 the first of three daughters was born. In the same year Hill and McGraw recorded the joint single It's Your Love , which took first place for six weeks and received multiple awards.
In 1998 her third album Faith was released , which was released in Germany with the title Love Will Always Win . The sales figures could be increased again. Faith Hill found her audience outside of the country scene. The single This Kiss was placed high in the pop charts. The next album, Breathe , reached top positions in both the country and pop charts. It was their most successful album to date and was awarded a Grammy .
In 2000 she sang the song Where Are You Christmas for the film The Grinch . In 2001 she contributed the theme song There You'll Be to the film Pearl Harbor . In 2002 the album Cry came out, with which she largely moved away from country music.
Hill sang at the closing ceremony of the 1996 Olympic Games . In 2003 she gave a solidarity concert in front of 10,000 Gulf War soldiers in Fort Bragg. Faith Hill was voted one of the "50 Most Beautiful People" by People Magazine readers and received numerous awards and prizes. Her first film role was in the remake of The Stepford Women .
In 2005 the album Fireflies was released . The released single Mississippi Girl was like the entire album again more country-heavy; the follow-up single Like We Never Loved at All was again a duet with husband Tim McGraw. A duo album was released in 2017. Since 2000, the two have been on tour together several times. The Soul2Soul tours were extremely successful.
