Wendy Smits (born January 22, 1983 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch handball player .

She played for the Dutch clubs Okiento, Kwieh and SEW and in 2005 moved to Germany for TuS Metzingen in the 2nd Bundesliga . There she was one of the top players in the league. After the 1.74 meter tall backcourt player was under contract with Bundesliga club HSG Sulzbach / Leidersbach in the 2007/08 season , she moved to league rivals Frisch Auf Göppingen in the 2008/09 season . After only one year, Smits moved back to MizuWaAi / Dalfsen in her Dutch homeland. From summer 2012 she played at HSG Blomberg-Lippe , which she left again in December 2012 for family reasons.

So far she has completed 14 internationals for the Netherlands.
