Vera Alexandrovna Sokolowa ( Russian Вера Александровна Соколова ; born June 8, 1987 in Chuvashia ) is a Russian walker .

successes

At the Junior World Championships in 2002 , she was ninth. In 2003 she was first at the World Youth Championships and third at the same event in 2004. In 2005 at the Junior European Championships she was first. At the Junior World Championships in 2006 Sokolowa was fourth. In 2009 she was 14th at the World Championships . In 2010 she won bronze at the European Championships .

At the 2011 World Championships , Sokolowa came 11th over 20 kilometers of walking. In 2014 she finished fourth over the same distance at the IAAF World Race Walking Cup and the European Championships .

Sokolowa was initially trained by Anatoly Nikolajew and his wife, the Olympic champion Jelena Nikolajewna Nikolajewa . In 2008 she moved to Mordovia , where Viktor Mikhailovich Chogin became her trainer.
