Bastke belonged to Rot-Weiss Essen , for whom he played in the Gauliga Niederrhein from 1938 to 1943 , one of initially 16, later increased to 23 Gauligen at the time of National Socialism as the uniform top division in the German Reich , as a defender played point games.
