Werner Bergmann (sociologist)

Werner Bergmann (born May 26, 1950 in Celle ) was Professor of Sociology at the Center for Research on Antisemitism at the Technical University of Berlin until 2016 . He has presented numerous publications on the history of anti-Semitism .

Life

Bergmann's work focuses on the sociology and history of anti-Semitism and related areas such as racism and right-wing extremism . He researches the theory of social movements, forms of collective violence ( pogroms , genocides ) and conducts prejudice research .
