Werner Blessing

Werner Blessing (born April 23, 1931 in Basel ; † August 21, 1987 in Chiemsee ) was a member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Bank and the son of Bundesbank President Karl Blessing . His son Martin Blessing was Chairman of the Board of Management of Commerzbank .

Life

After graduating from high school, Werner Blessing completed a banking apprenticeship at the Hamburg credit institute Joh.Berenberg, Gossler & Co. After becoming Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Norddeutsche Kreditbank , he switched to Deutsche Bank in 1965. In 1981 Blessing was appointed deputy and in 1984 a full member of the board. His main focus was on international business, especially with North and South America, South Africa and Australia.
