Werner Grohs

Werner Grohs (born November 8, 1926 , † July 17, 1972 ) was a German functionary of the GDR bloc party LDPD . He was chairman of the district boards of Suhl and Dresden and a member of the political committee of the central board of the LDPD.

Life

Grohs did military service in the Wehrmacht during the Second World War and became a prisoner of war .

After his release into the Soviet zone of occupation , he worked as a bank clerk in the Magdeburg district branch of the German Central Bank . He joined the Liberal Democratic Party in 1946 and became a member of the LDPD district committee in Magdeburg . From 1954 to 1956 he was a member of the Magdeburg District Assembly.

From 1956 to 1958 he was deputy chairman of the Dresden City Council and from 1956 to 1957 chairman of the LDPD district committee in Dresden. In 1958/59 he briefly held the position of chairman of the LDPD district committee in Suhl and was deputy chairman of the Suhl district council from 1958 to 1963. In 1960 he became a member of the central executive committee of the LDPD. From 1964 until his death in 1972 he acted as chairman of the LDPD district committee in Dresden. At the 10th party congress of the LDPD in November 1967 he was elected a member of the Political Committee of the LDPD's central executive committee.

Grohs died at the age of 45 and was buried in the Heidefriedhof in Dresden .
