Helmuth Speer
Helmuth Speer (born March 23, 1921 in Seidenberg ; † June 17, 1992 in Chemnitz ) was a German functionary of the GDR bloc party LDPD . He was chairman of the Dresden district board , secretary of the central board and chairman of the central revision commission of the LDPD as well as a member of the GDR regional chamber .
Life
Speer attended elementary and middle school. He completed an apprenticeship as a textile merchant and worked in the profession. During the Second World War he did military service in the Wehrmacht and became a prisoner of war .
After being released into the Soviet occupation zone , he joined the LDP in 1947. In 1948 he became a specialist auditor for balance sheet accounting. He later completed a degree in economics with a degree in economics. Speer became city councilor for work and social affairs in Riesa in 1952 , was then deputy chairman of the LDPD district executive in Görlitz and until 1955 deputy mayor of the city of Dresden . From 1956 to 1958 he acted as secretary of the LDPD central committee for "Western work". In 1958 he was briefly a member of the GDR Land Chamber . In 1958/59 he was chairman of the Dresden district board and was a member of the political committee of the central board of the LDPD. At the same time he held the position of deputy chairman of the Dresden District Council . From 1963 to 1967 he was chairman of the central revision commission of the LDPD (successor to Horst Prescher ). He was then deputy chairman and later a member of the secretariat of the LDPD district committee in Karl-Marx-Stadt . After his full-time party work, he was director of the VEB engineering office for rationalization or deputy specialist director and head of the scientific-technical center of the VEB service combine Karl-Marx-Stadt.
