Joachim von Jagow

Joachim von Jagow (born March 1, 1931 in Leipzig ) is a former German functionary of the GDR block party LDPD . From 1973 to 1989 he was chairman of the Dresden district council and a member of the central board of the LDPD.

Life

Jagow learned the trade of cabinet maker after attending primary school . He studied at the University of Industrial Design in Halle with a degree in architecture. He then worked as an architect in the VEB Halle project.

In 1960 he became a member of the Liberal Democratic Party. From 1963 to 1973 he was a member of the Halle District Assembly and from 1967 to 1973 he was a member of the Halle District Council and head of the local utility sector.

On June 29, 1973 he was elected chairman of the LDPD district board in Dresden and on October 23, 1973, he was co-opted as a member of the central board by the 7th meeting of the central board of the LDPD. From 1976 to 1990 he was a member of the Dresden District Assembly.
