Klaus-Peter Weichenhain

Klaus-Peter Weichenhain (born February 8, 1941 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) is a former German functionary of the GDR block party LDPD . He was secretary of the central board and chairman of the district boards of Suhl and Berlin of the LDPD. From 1986 to 1990 he was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Weichenhain, son of a merchant, attended high school with a high school diploma. From 1959 to 1963 he studied at the Pedagogical University in Potsdam, graduating as a teacher of geography and history. He joined the FDGB in 1959 and became a member of the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany in 1963. After graduating, he worked as a teacher in Vossberg , Letschin and Seelow . From 1965 to 1969 he was a member of the Seelow district council .

In 1967 he became a political employee of the Frankfurt district council of the LDPD. He studied at the German Academy for Political Science and Law in Potsdam-Babelsberg from 1971 to 1973 with a degree in political science . Then he was elected deputy chairman of the LDPD district executive committee in Suhl. In February 1975 he took over as district chairman of the district association Suhl. On August 7, 1975 he was co-opted as a member of the central board by the 12th meeting of the LDPD central board. In October 1976 he was elected to the Suhl district assembly, to which he belonged until 1982.

On December 11, 1981, at the 16th meeting of the LDPD's central executive committee, he was elected secretary of the central executive committee. In January 1982 he was replaced by Manfred Becker in the office of Suhl LDPD district chairman. In April 1982 he moved up to the highest body of the LDPD at the 13th party congress of the LDPD in Weimar and became a member of the Political Committee of the Central Board. From 1986 to 1990 he was a member of the People's Chamber and a member of the National Defense Committee. On January 21, 1988, in the presence of the party chairman Manfred Gerlach, he was elected chairman of the district association by the LDPD district committee in Berlin.
