Werner Hans Engelhardt

Werner Hans Engelhardt (born July 11, 1932 - † November 28, 2018 ) was a German economist .

Life

Engelhardt graduated in 1954 with a degree in business administration at the age of 22 . This was followed by a doctorate and habilitation . In 1968 Engelhardt first accepted a position at the business faculty of the Ruhr University in Bochum , where he initially held the chair for finance and credit management.

Then in 1970 he took the chair for marketing at the faculty , which he held with Peter Hammann until 1997 , where he was one of the first marketing researchers in Germany with him and Heribert Meffert from Münster .

Engelhardt received an honorary doctorate from Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf in 1996 . In 1979/80 and from 1987 to 1990 he was Dean of the Bochum Faculty of Economics. Various professors in business administration such as Martin Reckenfelderbäumer and Jörg Freiling are former Engelhardt employees.

Engelhardt dealt mainly with capital goods marketing.

Engelhardt was buried on December 6, 2018 in the Südfriedhof in Frankfurt am Main .
