Werner Hennig (lawyer)

Werner Hennig (born October 15, 1929 in Hohenstein in East Prussia ; † October 3, 2014 ) was a German lawyer and presiding judge at the Federal Social Court .

Life

Werner Hennig studied law in Würzburg and graduated in 1954 with the first state examination. In 1958, after completing his legal clerkship, he also passed the second state examination. Hennig then began his professional career in the administrative service of the Federal Employment Agency . From 1961 to 1963 he was seconded to the Federal Social Court as a research assistant . In 1965 he became head of the policy department for unemployment insurance at the Federal Labor Office. In 1966 he became administrative director there and took part in the development of the 1969 Employment Promotion Act .

In March 1971, Hennig became a judge at the Federal Social Court. From February 1, 1988 until his retirement in October 1994, he was presiding judge of the 7th Senate dealing with unemployment insurance cases .

Hennig was honored with the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .

Werner Hennig died on October 3, 2014 shortly before his 85th birthday.
