Werner Hollmann (actor)

Werner Hollmann (born August 30, 1882 in Berlin ; † March 3, 1933 there ; born Werner Franz ) was a German actor .

Life

Hollmann received his acting training from Otto Brahm and began his stage career in 1900 as a trainee at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin. Then he performed in Freiburg im Breisgau , Libau and Beuthen .

In 1904 he was back in Berlin, where he got an engagement at the Lustspielhaus in autumn 1905 . Other stage stations in Berlin were the theater in Königgrätzer Strasse , the theater on Nollendorfplatz and, most recently, the theater on Schiffbauerdamm . He played in classical and modern pieces, especially by August Strindberg and Frank Wedekind .

He used the pseudonym Werner Hollmann for his film appearances . At first he got leading roles, at last he only had short appearances.
