Werner Tikiüstenmacher (* 1953 in Munich ) is a voluntary German pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria and has been a freelance author and cartoonist since 1993.

biography

As a schoolboy he developed a passion for drawing comics and caricatures . Caught drawing under the school desk, the left-handed man received three reprimands and two arrests. After graduating from high school, coastal maker studied Protestant theology in Munich , Tübingen and Neuendettelsau and was then vicar in Freising for two years . He completed additional training in journalism at Münchner Merkur , Bayerischer Rundfunk and Bayerischer Fernsehen . In the 1970s he published a Tiki calendar. In the 1980s he made his hobby a sideline and drew the first of eight cartoon volumes ( picture sheets ), in which he dealt with the Bible , the Church and denominational differences in a funny way . He also brought out countless paperbacks and booklets for confirmation classes.

From 1981 to 1990 he headed the new media department of the Bavarian regional church's press association. Later he founded the TV production company "Evangelisches Fernsehen" and was also the author of over 20 half-hour television films produced there.

In 1989 his book MS-DOS appeared effortlessly as a cartoon computer course, with the MS-DOS operating system appearing as a bright yellow DOSe. More than 100,000 copies were sold. There was also a canned special edition of this book called MS-DOSe . There was Batchman (via batch files and other DOS features), Miss Word (using the word processor of Microsoft ) and Math & PC (mathematics course for math haters). The latter gave rise to the title Mathe macchiato , a 2nd edition published in 2010.

In 1991 he reversed roles with his wife: she became a publisher's editor , he househusband , freelance graphic designer, draftsman and book author. Within 15 years he published more than 70 books, brochures and calendars, which were particularly popular in the church sector. He is considered the "most famous caricaturist on the Christian scene".

From 1995 to 1997 he hosted religious talk shows. He was the presenter of the SAT.1 children's program Eselsohr und Teufelsschwanz (1995–1996) and the SAT.1 impulse programs So Seen and “Alles Tiki ?!” (1997). Since 2005, his contributions have been an integral part of the Sunday magazine on ZDF, first as a video column Tikis Welt , and since 2012 as animated films Tikimation .

Coast maker belongs to the group of 14 radio preachers of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria and organizes the Evangelical morning celebration on the radio station Bayern 1 on Sunday mornings about 4 times a year . He is also a regular speaker for the proclamation program Auf ein Wort on the radio stations Bayern 1 and Bayern 3 . This series, which started in 1983, is the only one that has been a coastal maker from the very beginning until today.

He has worked for various publishers and specialist magazines as a book author, illustrator, columnist ( PC Professionell ) and cartoonist ( PC Player ).

His greatest book success to date is simplify your life , published in 2001 , in which he offers instructions on how to simplify life. The book appeared in over 40 foreign editions and reached a worldwide circulation of over 4 million. In this context, he and his wife, Marion Meeresmacher, were editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine simplify your life from 1998 to 2008 and have been co-editor since 2008. In total, coastal makers has published over 100 books with a total circulation of around 6 million.

Coastal Maker has been a speaker since 2003 and illustrates his lectures with caricatures, some of which are drawn live. He is one of the 100 most booked speakers in Germany.

family

Coast Makers is married to Marion Coast Makers and has two sons and a daughter. He lives in Groebenzell near Fürstenfeldbruck.

His mother gave him the nickname Tiki even before he was born, when she was enthusiastic about the book Kon-Tiki by Thor Heyerdahl . Heyerdahl was referring to Qun Tiksi Wiraqucha , the monotheistic sun god of the Inca, not to the first person Tiki in New Zealand Maori mythology.
