Werner Konstantin von Arnswaldt

Werner Constantin Hermann William von Arnswaldt , modernized Werner Konstantin von Arnswaldt , (born November 17, 1877 in Wiedenhausen ; † March 17, 1941 ) was a German genealogist and author.

Life

Werner von Arnswaldt comes from the Thuringian noble family von Arnswaldt . He was the son of Hans August Friedrich Eduard Carl von Arnswaldt, who was a royal Hanoverian hunter a. D. and manor owner and was married to Marieanna Ida Victoria, born von Tschirschky and Boegendorff.

He attended private schools in Ahlden and Gartow as well as high schools in Celle, Bückeburg, Rinteln and Osnabrück. He then studied at the universities of Freiburg, Munich, Göttingen, Rostock, Innsbruck, Heidelberg, Halle and Leipzig. He served as a volunteer in Munich for two years. He then went on extensive recreational and educational trips across Europe.

From 1905 to 1908 Werner von Arnswaldt was a trainee at the House and State Archives in Darmstadt, before he worked for three years at the Central Office for German Personal and Family History in Leipzig. After returning from the First World War, he devoted himself as a private scholar to intensive research into the history of his family and published several publications about it.

He spent the last years of his life in Fischbeck Abbey on the Weser.
